Quartz is one of the most complete minerals on the Earth's surface and today it has the most attributes and uses.
This mineral is formed during complex chemical processes, subjected to high geological pressures and temperatures. Quartz belongs to the trigonal crystal system at room temperature, and to the hexagonal crystal system. Its most perfect and common form is a six-sided prism ending in a six-sided pyramid at each end. Its structure is determined by the atomic arrangement within its interior, forming rhombic systems. Its hardness, on the Mohs scale, is 7, scratching any known metal. Interestingly, the Earth's magnetic field is partly fueled by quartz crystals.
Within the quartz family, there are many varieties. Rose quartz, tourmaline quartz, hematite quartz, and Lemurian quartz , among many others. All of them possess different crystalline structures and, when combined with other minerals, give these different metaphysical attributes.
